The Indian Association of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Anaesthesiologists

Greetings from the Indian Association of Cardiovascular Thoracic Association (IACTA).
It gives me immense pleasure to introduce “IACTA Echo Library (IEL)”, an academic endeavour of
IACTA. IEL was started in October 2016 and has successfully completed more than 4 years. This is an
online web-based learning module, and our website is www.iactaecholibrary.co.in. The website has
more than 3800 members across the globe.

Following are the features of IEL in brief:
• Weekly Echo Manuscript: Every week on Saturday (8:00 AM Indian time), we publish peer-reviewed
manuscripts related to echocardiography. The link email is sent to all members of IEL.
• Mid-week quiz: Every Tuesday (14.00hrs) a quiz is published. The answer with explanation is
released on the next day i.e. Wednesday (14.00hrs). All published quiz can be accessed by members.
• Echo calculations: All the calculation tools are given with explanation and methodology to perform
them. This really helps in performing complex calculations and gradings of diseases.
• Learning tools: The website offers all learning tools for echocardiography e.g. nomogram and
grading of diseases, prosthetic valve areas of all make, recent guidelines, name of reference books.
• Interactive forum: There is an interactive forum for discussion on any topic.
• Videos, pictures and text can be downloaded free from IEL publications and there is no charges
for downloads. This way, one can make their own library from our website depending on the area of
interest.
• Previous publications: All the published weekly manuscripts and mid-week quiz can be accessed by
scrolling on the website.
• Search engine: There is a robust search engine attached to the website, where the topic of interest
can be searched and related manuscripts can be accessed easily.
• Editorial Board: The website is supervised by experienced national and international editorial board
members of great experience and reputation in the field of echocardiography.
