Dear members,

Greetings!

The application for the newly introduced orations is now open. The Dr Solomon Victor memorial oration is to take place on day one in the CT CME and the Dr Madhuram Santosham memorial oration on day one of the Thoracic CME. Those interested may kindly apply. The eligibility and what each oration entails is given below. Please familiarise yourself with these before applying. You may apply through the form provided. You will get a confirmation call from me after you apply. Kindly call me on 9841578815 or send me a whatsapp message if you do not hear from me within 48 hours of applying. The deadline for applications is 23:59 hours on the 31st of May 2026.

Kindly keep your Curriculum Vitae, passport size photo, Membership card, A word document telling us why we should choose you in 100 words and a word document briefing your oration in 400 words or less ready before applying. The decision of the Executive Committee will be final and binding and will be conveyed to you via the email you provide.

Dr Solomon Victor memorial oration 

The Dr Solomon Victor memorial oration is established in memory of Dr  Solomon Victor a pioneering cardiac surgeon who was the first editor of our journal. His work on comparative cardiac anatomy is commendable. The Oration is to be in the field of Cardiovascular surgery and will take place on day one of the CT CME. The orator should be a full member of the Indian association of Cardiovascular Thoracic surgeons for 10 full years as of May 2026. 

Dr Madhuram Santosham memorial oration  

The Dr Madhuram Santosham memorial oration is established in memory of Dr Madhuram Santosham a pioneering surgeon in the field of Thoracic surgery. He established the sanatorium treatment for tuberculosis and founded the Sanatorium in Madras. He was instrumental in the Madras study in the treatment of tuberculosis and was the pioneer of many thoracoplasty procedures. The oration is to be in the field of Thoracic surgery and will take place on the day one of the Thoracic CME. The orator should be a full member of the Indian association of Cardiovascular Thoracic surgeons for 10 full years as of May 2026.
